Can we request music not on your repertoire list?

Yes, we are continually expanding our repertoire and will do our utmost to fulfil your wishes. As we perform mostly as a String Duet there will be some pieces that do not work as well arranged for such a small ensemble, but we will be happy to advise you on alternatives if this is the case.

Please note that there is a charge of 30 for a bespoke arrangement and require a minimum of six weeks notice to do it in as we have to fit it in around our playing work.

How do I book Abbey Strings?

Following your email or phone enquiry, we will send you a contract and booking form to fill in (by email or post whichever you prefer). At this stage we will need a deposit of 100 to secure the booking.

How far are you willing to travel?

We regularly perform throughout the North East and are happy to travel within reason, however our very cheapest packages are based on performing within 10 miles of the centre of Morpeth.

What will you wear on the day?

We like to dress to suit the occasion- most frequently we will wear smart black with a choice of coloured shrugs or Northumberland Tartan throws depending on your preference for your event.

Are you able to play outside?

Yes we are more than happy to play outside, particularly as we appreciate that music could enhance the enjoyment of your guests during a champagne reception or taking of photographs, in the grounds of a beautiful country house or hotel.

 Understandably, however, there may be times when the weather is not conducive to us playing outside, as our instruments are susceptible to the elements.   We will happily discuss contingency arrangements, so that we can help your day to run as smoothly as possible.
